God has been very good to me during my time at St. Paulís Church. I have taught with wonderful colleagues and friends who have unselfishly served the Lord with their time, talents, and treasures. May God continue to bless St. Paulís Church and School.
As the son of an Air Force Chaplain I have had the great experience of living in many places. As a child I was able to live in nine different states and even Okinawa, Japan. The experiences of both parish and Armed Forces ministries led me to realize a calling to teach in Lutheran Schools. After meeting my wife, Sara, in Nebraska, I returned to school to finish my undergraduate degree at Concordia University in Austin, Texas. In 2005, I came to St. Paulís in Concordia, Missouri. These past ten years I have watched my sons, Stettler and Scout, grow in faith. I have had the privilege to serve as a communion assistant and Ministry Planning Council president in addition to teaching Fourth grade. My family and I are truly blessed to be a part of the St. Paulís community.

Having been inspired by a dedicated 6th grade Lutheran teacher, Sandra decided to answer God's call and attend Concordia Teachers College, River Forest, Illinois where she received an elementary and secondary teaching degree to prepare for God's ministry. I was born outside of St. Louis in Cedar Hill, Missouri in 1975. Living there with a family of 6, I was privileged to be a charter member of Cedar Hill Lutheran Church.
Moving to Blue Springs, Missouri the summer of 1988 I was confirmed at Timothy Lutheran Church. Here, my family would spend the next 8 years shuttling back and forth to Concordia. My sister and I both attended St. Paul Lutheran High and lived in the dorms while my parents, brother and youngest sister lived in Blue Springs.
While in college at Concordia University, Seward, my family moved to Concordia and my youngest siblings continued their careers here at St. Paulís and then St. Paul High.
Upon graduation from Seward in 2000, I was led to accept a 2nd grade teaching position here at St. Paulís. I have been here since and have held several positions. I taught 2nd grade for 10 years and could not stand to be around 8th graders or have them near my students. After teaching 2nd grade, I began teaching Technology classes in the morning and P.E. classes in the afternoon. Having done this for only a year, God decided to throw me in the lionís den that is 8th grade. After being quite scared and nervous about this new post in my life, I have been teaching Technology classes and 8th grade going on 5 years. I look around now and think that there is no way I could teach 2nd grade again. God has amazing ways of revealing his plan!
In my second year of teaching 2nd grade I met my wife Kelly (Nierman). After proposing during the end-of-year program, we were married in December of 2002. We have been blessed with 4 terrific children. Kaleb, Ella, Jonah and Molly are fortunate to be raised in this wonderful community, surrounded by family, friends and a caring congregation.
